Like a child’s infinite dreams,
is the endlessness of love.

Made up of memories of you
Bound together with love
Sewn with your selfless giving
Threads made of grace
Lined with thoughts of you.
Squares made of days gone by
Days we spent together
Each with a new design
Of the things that we shared.
Blanket stitches of our hearts
Mingle the squares in rows
Nothing can tear it apart
Not fire or flood or anything close.
It’s kept in a place of my keeping
The treasure chest of my heart
Wrapped in tissue of forgiveness
And tied with ribbons of love.
The colors all speak of you
Pinks and Blues and other hues
Sewn tight and fastened together
With hope and faith and truth.

I gaze into this blanket of diamonds
that reigns overhead.
The seemingly tiny particles of wonder
capture my attention.
My world seems to pause in intimate awe
paying my respects to stars who gave aid.
From the corner of my eye
I view a momentary image of true beauty.
A falling star, a promise of bliss,
a reflection of utopia.
I may not have known of this lonesome star,
yet it longs for my gaze.
And its only action to capture my eyes
is to fall away into oblivion.
Ceasing to glow yet etching a mark
on the lives of those who dream.
As I gaze up above,
I feel insignificant, microscopic, trivial.
Am I alone in this world
that hangs under this painting?
Infinity is incomprehensible
and as I am finite how can I have meaning?
A squeeze of my hand brings me back
to this refuge where I lay looking up.
I glance to my side and his smile
warms my heart and tickles my soul.
Viewing back and forth from the stars
to his gaze I begin to see.
I begin to comprehend this existence
that hangs beneath the constellations.
I have discovered a love incomprehensible
that surpasses forever.
I come upon true realization
that my life would not be the same
without his beautiful eyes to match the stars.

Everything you could have been
Everything you’ll be.
Everything you dream about
And everything you see.
All the times you feel so much
And times you let them go.
Times you thought you wanted love
And times you’ll never know.
Parts of you, you cannot hide
Parts I’ll never see.
Parts that want to be alone
And parts you share with me.
All these things that make you whole
I love like no one could.
And this is why I dream of you
In ways a lover would.
For friends is not enough for me
I know that it’s been years.
But love has grown to more than this
Despite my greatest fears.
Take a look behind these eyes
And see the death of me.
The love I feel for my best friend
Though he will never see.

The more I look back on all the happy times
the easier it is for me to realize
that friends are much more then hellos and goodbye
it all comes down to what you have inside.
Yes, some are good singers and some are athletic
but that doesnt matter (are you starting to get it?)
all that is important is the feeling inside
if your white or black or green or blue eyed.
For me to sit and say “I wont miss this old place”
is wrong and untrue (cant you tell in my face?)
all the frinds and teachers meant so much to me
I dont know any place that i’d rather be.
“Those were the days”, I’d here my parents say.
charish there years…each and everyday
The people you’ll meet and the places you’ll go
and the hurt once thats gone is more then you’ll know.
All my friends will be leaving and i’ll still be here
All my friends i’ll be losing is my greatest fear
Promise you wont forget me as you go away,
promise you’ll be back to see me someday!

I thought I had found the perfect friend,
But it only took about a week for that to end,
I thought there was hope left in my life,
But as it turns out, it was only added strife,
I thought for once I had done something right,
But I quickly corrected that oversight,
I thought I wasn’t useless or a bore,
But I was all that and even more,
I thought there was a purpose to my days,
But that was only a very short phase,
I thought you weren’t like all the rest,
But like those before, you failed the test,
I thought you would stay with me, at least for a bit,
But you decided it was better just to quit,
I thought life was worth living for a moment in time,
But the life I wanted could never be mine,
I thought the hunger inside had been fed,
But now I know, I was just being misled.
And now I think I’ve found another perfect friend,
How long before my heart is broken again?

I need to know if you’re my true friend,
will you be by my side until the end?
Can I tell you my secrets deep,
and trust them in your heart you’ll keep?
We are neither of us without our flaws,
can you accept mine as I will yours?
I’ll be a shoulder to cry on when you’re blue,
will you be there for me when I need you?
No matter how busy I will make time for you,
if you are busy will you make time for me too?
I will take your hand and comfort your tears,
will you hold me and soothe my fears?
I will give you joy and many warm smiles,
can we share that even across many miles?
I will not forget what’s important to you,
will you remember what’s important to me too?
With you my most favourite things I’ll share,
If only I know do you truly care?
If you can accept me as I do you,
then I will know you are a friend most true.
